The Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) has temporarily barred four doctors from practicing medicine.

The Medical and Dental Practitioners Investigation Panel of the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria has taken action against four doctors, suspending their medical practice in the country.

This development was officially announced on Monday through the social media channels of the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria.

 

The Investigation Panel, which holds the responsibility of investigating cases involving alleged professional misconduct by registered medical practitioners or dental surgeons, is comprised of 15 members, all of whom must be registered medical practitioners or dental surgeons.

 

The Professional Discipline (PD) department manages and processes allegations of professional misconduct against medical doctors and dental surgeons, in accordance with the established procedures of the MDPIP (Medical and Dental Practitioners Investigation Panel).

 

The Head of Department plays a key role in coordinating departmental activities and acts as the secretary to the Investigation Panel. In accordance with their announcement, the Medical and Dental Practitioners Investigation Panel has imposed an Interim Suspension from the practice of Medicine in Nigeria upon the following registered medical practitioners:

Dr. Ejike Ferdinand Orji.

Dr. Richard Chukwujekwu Okoye.

Dr. Olalekan Olatise.

Dr. Buliaminu Adebayo Adigun.

These registered practitioners are prohibited from practicing Medicine in Nigeria until their respective cases are resolved by the Medical and Dental Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal.

 

Notices of their suspension have been duly communicated to them and the relevant institutions responsible for enforcing this order have been duly notified.
